Hassan Mohammad abu Khdair was born in 1952. He studied at the Shuafat al-Rashidiya al-Ibrahimiya School and the Islamic Orphanage and completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Arts of Beirut Arab University, but he abandoned his studies to join the National Front in 1974. He was arrested in 1975 and sentenced to 10 years in prison and 5 executive years, of which he spent 7 years until his release in 1982. Given his political activity, he was forced to hide as he was wanted for arrest. Then, he disappeared until his arrest in 1989 in Hebron, and was sentenced to 28 months, but he was released in 1992. He currently works at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA).

This is a family archival collection which belongs to Hassan abu Khdair, which captures some aspects of the life of the Palestinian family at the Shuafat area of Jerusalem, such as community participation in building a mosque, weddings and sports activities.
