A Letter from Hisham Halawani to His Son, 1984

Handwritten, this letter is by Hisham Halawani at Nafha Prison to his son Helmi at as-Sowana Neighbourhood in Jerusalem in 1984, where he wrote expressing the feeling of happiness and joy that overwhelmed him upon receiving Helmi’s letters, which help him to endure the hardships of imprisonment along with his cellmates, and told his son that their generation is the generation of revolution and liberation. On the second page, he recommended the necessity of building new friendships and strengthening them with love and respect, and spending time reading, writing and playing sports, such as football, handball and volleyball, and he concluded his letter with recommending Helmi to help his mother.
